iLaw plans move to repeal some NCPO orders | Bangkok Post: news

A Thai human rights NGO has made the first move against the junta's orders that curb civil rights and liberties now that the new constitution came into effect, Thai media reported. Yingcheep Atchanont, programme manager of Internet Law Reform Dialogue (iLaw), said on Saturday his organisation had joined hands with a number of civil organisations to propose the repeal of such orders within two months. In particular, iLaw views the Order No.3/2558 of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO)'s chief is a gross violation of civil rights. The order also bans gatherings or political assemblies of five people or more, except allowed by NCPO chief Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha. They can be repealed only with more orders or laws, he added.
